We receive special requests from deployed chaplains for items they need to support and minister to troops at their location. We were able to provide gaming equipment to a chaplain to set up a game room so service members could enjoy gaming in their down time. We provided hammocks to another chaplain who set up an outside chill zone for her troops to relax.
We are able to purchase many of these items on Amazon and have them shipped directly to the chaplain - which means we don't have to pay for shipping. We need funds on hand in order to respond to these special requests as they come in.
We ship Christmas stockings to deployed service members who will not spend Christmas with their families. For many soldiers, this might be their first Christmas away from their home and families. Our stocking may be the only item they receive for Christmas. We can help you set up a project in your church, place of business or community organization.
We post flyer for this project in October.
We collect items the month of July to fill our Back Pack for Vets and send care packages to deployed troops.
We collect two types of items, as follows:
Food & snacks boxes contain Ramen Noodles, canned raviolis, nuts, fruit snacks, trail mixes, sunflower seeds, beef jerky, protein bars, candy and any requested items.
Personal care boxes contain deodorant, body wash, shampoo, soap, baby wipes, razors, shaving cream and requested items.
There are two ways to help us:
Prayer patches are small knitted, crocheted or quilted squares that service members can tuck into a pocket and carry with them as a reminder that folks back home are praying for them. Chaplains use these as tools to have a conversation with a service member. They love receiving cards and letters reminding them that we appreciate their service and sacrifice.
If you knit, crochet or quilt - we need you!
